This is a great piece of militaria, the L-2B jacket is an "alternative" to the famous MA-1, the shape is more or less the same, the biggest difference is in the insulation, the L-2B was though for moderate temperature, that makes this jacket perfect for the Vietnam war.

We can appreciate a lot of great details, first of all, the name of the pilot, Major Coney (assuming by the rank) patches game is pretty strong in this jacket. The chest one is about the Aerospace Defense Command, which was a major command of the USAF, activated in 1968 and disbanded in 1980. We can see that Major Coney was part of the 56th Fighter Wings, during the Vietnam war, was renamed 56th Air Commando Wing and activated at Nakhon Phanom Royal Thai Air Force, used for riverine patrols along the Mekong River.

This jacket, produced by Alpha Industries in the 1972, is in very good conditions, just some little holes on the cuffs and collar but nothing major. Everything is original, zipper works nice and smooth... so is definitely a real gem, ready to be wear in the fall that is around the corner.
